2 MONTHS OLD! (Weeks 7 and 8)

The last two weeks have been very busy and fun. We went in to my school  so the staff and students could meet Kailey (some for a second time). I had a great time listening to all the questions my students had. They wanted to know Kailey's favorite toy, t.v. show, etc. I had to inform them that she is a little young and really only enjoys Eating, Sleeping, and doing her business. It was a hard concept. We also visited dad's school to meet his students. They were very sweet and sang Kailey songs.

We have continued to go to our PEPS and Moms groups, it is always nice to hear where other babies are. I am able to relax with all the little concerns I have.

With Kailey being so little, she has had the opportunity to run some fun errands with me, she made it to the Eye Doctors and slept the whole time (yeah), she took a trip to the vet to get some work on Jackers, she went out to lunches and dinners like a pro, and she even helped Ian and me babysit Finley and Connor so Tanya and Kevin could go to Connor's school Auction! She sure has a handle on the two of them! The hardest yet reassuring thing we did together was drop off her deposit for a spot in daycare. We are super excited about the daycare we found and are very lucky she doesn't have to start until 6 months. But is is nice knowing where she will be going and that we enjoy the workers.

During the last two weeks we had some very special visitors. Kailey got to meet PopPop, he flew all the way from Houston to visit her. There is no question, she had him wrapped around her little finger within minutes. She is the first grandaughter on Ian's side, she will be a princess! Kailey got to enjoy the day with PopPop, grandma and Ian while I went to a bridal shower. When I got home we all went out for a wonderful meal. We feel very lucky that they were able to visit.

Gramma also made a visit to Kirkland to see her grand babies. The visit was short but worth every minute. We also had the McDowells over for a night. It was fun to watch Autzen and Lincoln play, it is only a matter of months until Kailey will be mobile too!

If you didn't know, Ian has gotten a part time job with the Mariners this summer! Thanks to his job Kailey got to go to her first Mariners game on Sunday, April 22nd. It was a beautiful day and a pretty good game, sadly they lost. But Kailey got some good Vitamin D time and snuggles with Uncle Kevin.

Today, Thursday, April 26th is Kailey's 2 month birthday. We had her check-up and she is doing great! She currently weighs 11 lbs 13 oz (90th percentile), she is 23 3/4 inches (95th percentile), and her head circumference is 15 1/2 inches ( 75th percentile. She is obviously growing and not having any problems keeping the calories she needs.

Sleep: Lately Kailey has begun to give us a 5-6 hour stretch followed by a 2-4 hour stretch. We love this because we are getting sleep too!

Eating: Like a champ! She has definitely gotten faster with her eatings and is spreading them out little by little.

Play: Kailey's favorite toy is her playmat. She will lay on it and stare and coo at it for large chunks of time. If she isn't hungry or tired, she loves time with the music and lights.

Skills: Kailey is smiling at us and it melts our hearts. When she smiles it makes you forget about the lack of sleep or all the screaming she can do!

Below are pictures of the last two and half weeks! Enjoy!

Kailey with me at the eye doctor! She was a pro!

Ian's class singing to Kailey!

First visit from PopPop! Grandma got in on the action too!

Taking some time to complain to grandma!

Grandma reading to Kailey!

New favorite toy!

She LOVES the lights!

Proving mom wrong when Gramma was in town. She slept on the couch for a good chunk of time!

Excited for the sun!

Starting to smile!  Of course I can never get a "full" smile on camera!

Look at my neck control!

Tracking the Jack Dog!

More smiles!

Starting to sleep in my swing more! Jack likes to protect me, or he knows it is a way to get close to mom because she always picks me up!

We still love our pups!

Mariners Game!
Uncle Kevin got some good snuggle time!

He even tried to get me addicted to Diet Pepsi! Don't worry, it will eventually happen if I am anything like my mom!

Connor, Dan, Megan, Sarah, Nick, and Hadley joined us! (Sarah, Nick and Hadley not pictured, sorry!)

Connor being respectful!
