5 Months Old!

Little miss Kailey is getting so big. She loves sitting up these days so her Bumbo is her favorite friend. She is continuing to play with her voice. Her favorite thing to do is see how high she can scream, and boy is she good! With her head of hair now in her face, we are trying different ways to keep it out of her eyes! She does a pretty good job of keeping clips in. She is continuing to eat well, the docotor was surprised at her 4 month visit that her weight was all milk and no solids! Speaking of solids, we have started to introduce them to her slowly. I think she is having the hardest time with the consistency, she sure spins it around in her mouth a lot. Sleeping is the same, up once a night and takes anywhere from 2-4 naps in the day! We also started the "cry it out" on her 5 month birthday. It was harder on mom than her but only took 29 minutes on the first night! We are hoping it gets easier like everyone says!

We are loving every moment and look forward to some special events in her six month of life!

Enjoy the pictures.

Kailey reading her book.

Kailey trying to figure out how to get her book. She has developed a "frustrated" scream. When she drops something an cannot get it, boy she doesn't like it.

Close up!

Our dog Katie is still learning which toys are hers and not hers.

The other night we went and had dinner with our friends, Erin, Adam, and their son Jaks who is four days older than Kailey. They will be going to the same daycare and will get to grow up together. Jaks had a fun toy that Kailey took a liking!

Trying to figure out how to get the lizard.

Really trying to get him.

Food!

I don't know about this!

What are those funny things?

On Thursday, July 12th, Kailey took her first visit to the Seattle Aquarium with her cousins Connor and Finley, Aunt Tanya, and Mom and Dad. She was in Aww of all the color ful things in front of her. She even had some fun practicing her tracking abilities.

Mommy and me outside the Aquarium.

Up Close.

Cousins Connor and Finley looking at the big tank.

My turn.

Enjoying my ride on mommy.

Cousin Finley enjoying the bumps on the floor.

I loved looking at all the colorful fish.

Walking by the tidal wave.

Looking down at sea stars and other fun creatures. Finley looks like she wants to dive in while mommy and Aunt Tanya talk.

Jellyfish.

Finley is always blurry because she is always moving!

Reading about octopus arms.

Cousin Connor is a Jellyfish. Aaahhh.

Now I am one! What are we giong to do?

What else? Turn Finley into one too!

Connor comparing himself to a shark.

Mommy trying to compare me.

Look at that, Connor finally caught a Finley.

We got to see the scary man feed the fish.

He also waved at me when I came near.

All of us admiring the bright colors.

Here I am tracking some fun fish.

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles!

Still hanging out with mommy! Notice I like to chew on my carrier!

Orca fin! So big!

Connor learing some fun facts about Orcas.

Oh no! Help Finley. Her mommy is making the sharks attack her! Run!

(I will contiue to try to load the videos of her following the fish!)
We had a blast at the aquarium and cannot wait to go back!

Summer! July 1-9th

With a fun filled summer (and mom off work) the blog can get updated more often!

One of Kailey's favorite times of the day is bath time! She gets one every night before bed! It helps keep her up just a bit longer!!

Here I tried giving her a mowhawk to show Aunt Tanya. Her hair is too long and heavy to stay up!

During bath time is a great time to skype the Grandparents. She loves to track them on the ipad.

Kailey has grown out of most of her 3 month clothing and is onto 6 month clothing. It is a little loose, but is more comfortable than the tight fitting tees.

Here Kailey is starting to roll to her side to find her toys.

We love going on walks as a family.

Here Kailey is ready for a walk during the chilly day in her Oregon Hat!

Since Ian and I are both off school we thought it was a great time to do some "summer" cleaning. Of course this was on a day Kailey didn't want to sleep much, so she got to hang out with us and watch.

Kailey entertained by Elmo in her stroller while we cleaned the garage.

Kailey has become quite the little talker. Here she is talking to her Elmo!

Morning time!
Kailey gets some good chair time while Mom and Dad make their Shakeology in the morning.

Fourth of July at the Scharpenbergs!

More walking adventures in the fabulous sun! She loves her chain!

She just won't let go!

More rolling to the side!

Katie trying to get comfortable in the heat.

Play time!

I LOVE sticking out my tongue!!
